COVID-19: 535 new cases; 14,887 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, announced 535 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 171,649.    

According to HPA, the 535 new cases include; 42 cases from the greater Male’ region, 448 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 34 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 479 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 156,452.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 14,887 active cases.      

There are 10 patients in hospitals.      

2,231 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 488 samples from the greater Male' region.  

With the 535 new infections on Thursday, 3,525 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.  

March 3: 535 cases 

March 2: 459 cases 

March 1: 463 cases 

February 28: 560 cases 

February 27: 484 cases 

February 26: 517 cases 

February 25: 507 cases 

Maldives has recorded 297 COVID-19 deaths.
