Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 648 new cases of COVID-19, increasing the total confirmed cases in Maldives to 164,229.
The agency detailed that from the new cases; 70 are from the greater Male’ region, 485 are from residential islands outside Male’, and 63 cases from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, a total of 958 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 148,868.
With these new developments, Maldives now has 15,058 active cases.
HPA also noted that currently, there are 26 patients seeking hospitalized care.
Over the last 24-hours, a total of 3,365 samples were tested for COVID-19, including 919 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at eight percent.
