COVID-19: 1,037 new cases; 15,782 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday, announced 1,037 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 161,113.     

According to HPA, the 1,037 new cases include; 136 cases from the greater Male’ region, 828 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 41 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 1,073 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 145,029.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 15,782 active cases.      

There are 30 patients in hospitals.      

4,061 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,252 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 11 percent. 

With the 1,037 new infections on Tuesday, 7,6983 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.  

February 15: 1,037 cases 

February 14: 1,015 cases 

February 13:  1,030 cases 

February 12:  1,128 cases 

February 11:  986 cases 

February 10:  1,406 cases 

February 9: 1,096 cases 

Maldives has recorded 289 COVID-19 deaths.
