Sri Lankan court sentences Maldivian to life in prison over drug case

A Sri Lankan Court has sentenced a Maldivian to life in prison over the drug-related case.

The individual sentenced to life in prison is a Maldivian man. However, Sri Lankan news outlets did not disclose any other information regarding his identity.

As per Sri Lankan news outlets, he was sentenced to life in prison by Colombo High Court today.

He was sentenced to life in prison over the possession of 265 grams of heroine. He was arrested in Bambalapitiya, on April 22, 2016.

Another individual was arrested over the case in addition to him. However, Sri Lankan news outlets report that the individula has been released.
