COVID-19: 242 new cases; Male’ positivity rate at 7%

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 242 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 96,294.      

According to HPA, the 242 new cases include; 97 cases from the greater Male’ region, 78 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 66 cases from operational resorts, and 1 case from liveaboards. 

Meanwhile, 96 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 93,410.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,609 active cases.      

There are 12 patients in hospitals.      

3,740 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,293 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 7 percent. 

With the 242 new infections on Monday, 1,262 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

Maldives has recorded 262 COVID-19 deaths.
