Maldives records additional 160 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Friday, announced 160 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 95,700.      

According to HPA, the 160 new cases include; 38 cases from the greater Male’ region, 71 cases from residential islands outside Male’ and 51 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 85 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 93,127.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,298 active cases.      

There are 18 patients in hospitals.      

3,879 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,084 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 3 percent.

Maldives has recorded 262 COVID-19 deaths.
