Maldives records additional 132 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Sunday, announced 132 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 94,864.      

According to HPA, the 132 new cases include; 43 cases from the greater Male’ region, 46 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 42 cases from operational resorts, and 1 case from liveaboards. 

Meanwhile, 119 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 92,558.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,032 active cases.      

There are 10 patients in hospitals.      

5,043 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,736 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 2 percent.

Maldives has recorded 261 COVID-19 deaths.
