COVID-19: 145 new cases; 1,925 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, announced 145additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 94,444.      

According to HPA, the 145 new cases include; 47 cases from the greater Male’ region, 52 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 46 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 146 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 92,245.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,925 active cases.      

There are 13 patients in hospitals.      

4,131 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,394 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 3 percent. 

With the 145 new infections on Thursday, 815 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.  

December 23: 145 cases 

December 22: 121 cases 

December 21: 121 cases 

December 20: 100 cases 

December 19: 93 cases 

December 18: 131 cases 

December 17: 104 cases 

Maldives has recorded 261 COVID-19 deaths.
