Police: Youth wounded by object in his possession, not attacked

Maldives Police Service has stated that the youth who was believed to have been a victim of an attack – was wounded by an object that was in his possession.  

A Police Spokesperson told Sun that they were informed of an individual being wounded in an attack at Meheli Goalhi, Henveiru, Male’ City, at around 08:21am this morning.

The Police identified the victim as a 22-year-old Maldivian man – adding that he was being treated at ADK Hospital for his injuries.

Speaking on their findings so far, the Police said that the injuries sustained by the youth is not from being attacked by another person.

“Furthermore, investigations so far indicate that the victim’s injuries are from an object that was in his possession,” they added.

However, the case is still under investigation, the Police had said.

When inquired about the status of the victim by Sun, ADK Hospital said that they are unable to give any details as to his condition at the moment.
