Maldives crowned ‘World’s Leading Destination’ two years consecutively

Maldives has been crowned ‘World’s Leading Destination’ at World Travel Awards – the most prestigious honors program in global travel. 

This is the second time Maldives has secured the title; the first time being last year.

Maldives competed with 18 other popular tourist destinations for the title – including Dubai, Greece, Spain, Indonesia and South Africa.

Apart from being crowned as the World’s Leading Destination – Maldives also secured the titles Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination, Indian Ocean’s Leading Beach Destination and Indian Ocean’s Leading Dive Destination.

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) was crowned Indian Ocean’s Leading Tourist Board.

Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) was crowned World’s Leading Seaplane Operator.
