COVID-19: 102 new cases; 1,726 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 102 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 92,095.      

According to HPA, the 102 new cases include; 25 cases from the greater Male’ region, 72 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 5 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 100 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 90,103.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,726 active cases.      

There are 19 patients in hospitals.      

3,818 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 884 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 3 percent. 

With the 102 new infections on Saturday, 745 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

November 30: 107 cases 

November 29: 79 cases 

November 28: 114 cases 

Maldives has recorded 253 COVID-19 deaths.
