COVID-19: 94 new cases; 1,231 active cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, announced 94 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 85,932.      

According to HPA, the 94 new cases include; 20 cases from the greater Male’ region, 68 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 6 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 70 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 84,451.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,231 active cases.      

There are 16 patients in hospitals.      

4,021 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,714 samples from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at 1 percent. 

With the 94 new infections this Thursday, 584 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.   

October 14: 94 cases 

October 13: 106 cases 

October 12: 110 cases 

October 11: 74 cases 

October 10: 83 cases 

October 9: 71 cases 

October 8: 46 cases 

Maldives has recorded 237 COVID-19 deaths.
