COVID-19: 46 new cases, 35 from atolls

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Friday, announced 46 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 85,278.      

According to HPA, the 46 new cases include; seven cases from the greater Male’ region, 35 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and four cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 25 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 83,805.    

With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,339 active cases.      

There are 15 patients in hospitals.      

3,121 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,092 from the greater Male' region. The positivity rate in the greater Male’ area is at one percent.

Maldives has recorded 233 COVID-19 deaths.
