Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 128 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 82,950.
According to HPA, the 128 new cases include; 45 cases from the greater Male’ region, 69 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 14 case from operational resorts.
Meanwhile, 229 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 80,774.
With the new developments, Maldives now has 1,936 active cases.
There are 19 patients in hospitals.
5,317 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,764 from the greater Male' region.
With the 128 new infections this Monday, 851 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

Maldives has recorded 227 COVID-19 deaths.
Maldives began its vaccination campaign in February. The country has also begun vaccinating children above the age of 12 years.
As of Sunday, 389,235 people have received their first dose and 321,570 people have been fully vaccinated.
