COVID-19: 125 new cases, 66 from atolls

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, announced 125 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 78,815.      

According to HPA, the 125 new cases include; 30 cases from the greater Male’ region, 66 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 29 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 356 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 76,491.      

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,090 active cases.      

There are 22 patients in hospitals.      

5,048 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 2,144 from the greater Male' region.

Maldives has recorded 222 COVID-19 deaths. 

On Thursday, a total of 1,029 people had gotten their first dose whereas a total of 1,169 people had gotten their second dose.

With these new developments, a total of 341,009 people have received their first dose out of which 292,905 people have completed the second dose.
