COVID-19: 104 new cases, 35 from Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, announced 104 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 77,999.     

According to HPA, the 104 new cases include; 35 cases from the greater Male’ region, 56 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 13 cases from operational resorts.   

Meanwhile, 158 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 75,253.     

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,512 active cases.     

There are 20 patients in hospitals.     

6,237 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 2,971 from the greater Male' region.   

With the 104 new infections this Thursday, 797 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.     

August 5: 104 cases 

August 4: 137 cases 

August 3: 125 cases  

August 2: 86 cases   

August 1: 115 cases    

June 31: 123 cases     

June 30: 107 cases     

Maldives has recorded 222 COVID-19 deaths.
