Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM)’s headquarters in Male’ City has been relocated.

HRCM has announced its headquarters is now located on the 12th and 13th floor of M. Chambeylee Villa (former Star Cinema Building).

HRCM’s headquarters was previously located on the 5th, 6th and 7th floor of Ma. Uthuruvehi.

An official from HRCM told Sun the commission faced electricity and flooding issues at the old building, and it was no longer fit for use. The official said HRCM decided to relocate to a new building as it would be expensive to repair the old building.

Ma. Uthuruvehi also houses the Transport Ministry.
