COVID-19 patient at Dhuvaafaru dies, marking 220th death

A COVID-19 patient being treated at Dhuvaafaru Health Centre has passed away.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) identified the latest COVID-19 fatality as a 66-year-old Maldivian male. He passed away sometime this afternoon.

His death increased the number of COVID-19 fatalities in the Maldives to 220.

This is the third COVID-19 death recorded from R. Dhuvaafaru. At present, there are 145 active cases on the island.

Dhuvaafaru Council President Hassan Hakeem has stated that the results of 90 samples taken from the island and sent to Male’ City for testing still remain pending.
