COVID-19: 80 new cases, 16 from Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 80 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 75,816.

According to HPA, the 80 new cases include; 16 cases from the greater Male’ region, 56 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 8 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 142 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 73,072.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,516 active cases.

There are 23 patients in hospitals.

6,928 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 80 new infections this Saturday, 823 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

July 17: 80 cases

July 16: 114 cases

July 15: 217 cases

July 14: 73 cases

July 13: 170 cases

July 12: 91 cases

July 11: 78 cases

Maldives has recorded 216 COVID-19 deaths.
