President and First Lady arrives at Kulhudhuffushi on official visit

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed departed on a three-day trip to three islands in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, this afternoon. They arrived at their first stop this evening – Kulhudhuffushi.

As per the President’s Office, the other two islands the President and the First Lady will be visiting on this trip is Hanimaadhoo and Kumundhoo.

The President and First Lady are scheduled to tour landmarks and meet the city's leaders at Kulhudhuffushi.

In this regard, several meetings have been arranged with government bodies including Haa Dhaalu Atoll Council, the Kulhudhuffushi City Council, the Women’s Development Committee, and the heads of educational institutions in the city.

The next stop for the President and the First Lady would be Kumundhoo – where the President is scheduled to meet with members of the Kumundhoo Island Council and the island's Women’s Development Committee. They would also tour several areas of the island, including the health center and school, during their stop.

The last stop for them would be Hanimaadhoo – where the President is scheduled to hold meetings with members of Hanimaadhoo Island Council and the Women’s Development Committee. In addition to this, the President will inaugurate the road-development project in Hanimaadhoo and examine the progress of ongoing government projects on the island.

Residents of these islands have been cautioned by the President’s Office to not crowd spaces in order to welcome the President and the First Lady in the light of the ongoing pandemic.

The President and the First Lady are due to return to Malé this coming Sunday.
