COVID-19: 170 new cases, 19 from Male' area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 170 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 75,332.

According to HPA, the 170 new cases include; 19 cases from the greater Male’ region, 78 cases from residential islands outside Male’, seven cases from operational resorts, one case from a liveaboard, 60 cases from islands under development, and five cases from industrial and islands used for other purposes.

Meanwhile, 130 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 72,569. 

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,537 active cases.

There are 17 patients in hospitals.

6,750 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

July 11: 78 cases

July 10: 90 cases

July 9: 55 cases

July 8:  124 cases

July 7: 139 cases

Maldives has recorded 214 COVID-19 deaths.
