COVID-19: 90 new cases, 23 from Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 90 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 74,993.

According to HPA, the 90 new cases include; 23 cases from the greater Male’ region, 58 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 6 cases from operational resorts, and 3 cases from islands under development.

Meanwhile, 241 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 72,118.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,650 active cases.

There are 21 patients in hospitals.

7,012 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 90 new infections this Saturday, 769 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

July 10: 90 cases

July 9: 55 cases

July 8:  124 cases

July 7: 139 cases

July 6: 105 cases

July 5: 129 cases

July 4: 127 cases

Maldives has recorded 213 COVID-19 deaths.
