COVID-19: 124 new cases, 26 from Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Thursday, announced 139 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 74,848.

According to HPA, the 124 new cases include; 26 cases from the greater Male’ region, 73 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 9 cases from operational resorts, 3 cases from liveaboards, and 13 cases from islands under development.

Meanwhile, 191 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 71,758.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,865 active cases.

There are 22 patients in hospitals.

5,048 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 124 new infections this Thursday, 917 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

July 8:  124 cases

July 7: 139 cases

July 6: 105 cases

July 5: 129 cases

July 4: 127 cases

July 3: 150 cases

July 2: 143 cases

Maldives has recorded 213 COVID-19 deaths.
