The Disciplinary Committee of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has decided to remove Mohamed Inaad from his position as a member of the party based on the ongoing investigation against him for threatening to bomb the High Commission of India in the Maldives in a tweet.

In a statement released by the party, they condemned the threat to bomb the Indian High Commission and expressed deep concern over the situation.

MDP stressed that supporting and threating to carry out dangerous acts that could harm people and property and support are criminal offenses, and called on authorities to conduct full and speedy investigations, and mete out due punishment.

MNDF has tightened security measures at the High Commission following the bomb threat upon the request of the Foreign Ministry.

The Foreign Ministry has repeatedly stressed that such actions would threaten the security of diplomatic missions and diplomats in the Maldives in addition to straining the diplomatic relations formed between the Maldives and other nations.
