Health Protection Agency (HPA), has announced 178 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 73,660.
The 178 new cases include; 43 cases from the greater Male’ area, 125 cases from inhabited islands outside of Male’, seven cases from operational resorts, and three cases from islands under development.
Meanwhile, 245 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 69,623.
With the new developments, the Maldives now has 3,815 active cases.
There are 27 patients in hospitals.
5,199 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

The Maldives has recorded 210 COVID-19 deaths.
As the cases continue to decrease in the Male’ area, the government plans to ease the restrictions set in place to curb the spread of the virus starting from July.
