COVID-19: 253 new cases; 35 in Male’ region

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 253 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 72,149.

According to HPA, the 253 new cases include; 35 cases from the greater Male’ region, 164 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 3 cases from operational resorts, 43 cases from islands under development, and 8 cases from industrial/islands used for other purposes.

Meanwhile, 769 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 67,148.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 4,784 active cases.

There are 44 patients in hospitals.

5,296 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 253 new infections this Monday, 1,476 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

June 21: 253 cases

June 20: 187 cases

June 19: 211 cases

June 18: 142 cases

June 17: 218 cases

June 16: 241 cases

June 15: 224 cases

Maldives has recorded 206 COVID-19 deaths.
