COVID-19: Maldives records 142 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Friday, announced 142 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 71,498.

According to HPA, the 142 new cases include; 51 cases from the greater Male’ region, 88 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 2 cases from operational resorts, and 1 case from liveaboards.

Meanwhile, 964 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 65,178.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 6,390 active cases.

There are 53 patients in hospitals.

3,520 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 142 new infections this Friday, 1,667 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

June 18: 142 cases

June 17: 218 cases

June 16: 241 cases

June 15: 224 cases

June 14: 372 cases

June 13: 224 cases

June 12: 246 cases

Maldives has recorded 203 COVID-19 deaths.
