COVID-19: Maldives records 224 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday, announced 224 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 70,897.

According to HPA, the 224 new cases include; 111 cases from the greater Male’ region, 105 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 8 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 772 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 62,533.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 8,155 active cases.

There are 79 patients in hospitals.

4,644 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 224 new infections this Tuesday, 2,025 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

June 11: 295 cases

June 10: 323 cases

June 9: 341 cases

Maldives has recorded 198 COVID-19 deaths.
