COVID-19: Maldives records 372 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 372 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 70,673.

According to HPA, the 372 new cases include; 125 cases from the greater Male’ region, 215 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 30 cases from operational resorts, 1 case from liveaboards, and 1 case from industrial/islands used for other purposes.

Meanwhile, 992 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 61,761.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 8,703 active cases.

There are 82 patients in hospitals.

5,262 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 372 new infections this Monday, 2,171 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

June 14: 372 cases

June 13: 224 cases

June 12: 246 cases

June 11: 295 cases

June 10: 323 cases

June 9: 341 cases

June 8: 370 cases

Maldives has recorded 198 COVID-19 deaths.
