COVID-19: 370 new cases confirmed, 217 from Male' City

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 370 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 68,872.

According to HPA, the new cases include; 217 cases from the greater Male’ region, 148 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and four cases from operational resorts while one was confirmed from an island under development.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 17,461 active cases. There are 152 patients in hospitals. 4,263 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

  • June 8: 370 cases
  • June 7: 552 cases
  • June 6: 412 cases
  • June 5: 590 cases
  • June 4: 432 cases
  • June 3: 648 cases
  • June 2: 704 cases

HPA statistics also show that 1,369 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 51,213.

The Maldives has recorded 189 COVID-19 deaths.
