Sri Lankan passes away from COVID-19, 176th death

A 37-year old Sri Lankan national has passed due to COVID-19 in the Maldives. 

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that the individual was brought into the Emergency Room of IGMH around 04:24. 

This is the 176th COVID-19 death in the Maldives and the second one confirmed today. 

Previously, a 77-year old local passed away in the island of Dh. Bandidhoo today.

The Maldives has recorded a high number of deaths in relation to the virus as of recently. Although the death rate has now somewhat subsided, the last month of May saw the Maldives record more than 80 deaths.
