COVID-19: Maldives records 710 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 710 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 64,396.

According to HPA, the 710 new cases include; 488 cases from the greater Male’ region, 202 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 5 cases from operational resorts, and 15 cases from islands under development.

Meanwhile, 803 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 40,117.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 24,109 active cases.

There are 204 patients in hospitals.

5,310 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 710 new infections this Monday, 7,055 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

May 31: 710 cases

May 30: 780 cases

May 29: 1,062 cases

May 28: 901 cases

May 27: 1,299 cases

May 26: 1,299 cases

May 25: 1,004 cases

161 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
