COVID-19: Maldives records 1,062 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 1,062 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 62,906.

According to HPA, the 1,062 new cases include; 699 cases from the greater Male’ region, 353 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 9 cases from non-operational resorts, and 1 case from islands under development.

Meanwhile, 1,371 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 38,233.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 24,507 active cases.

There are 240 patients in hospitals.

4,832 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 1,062 new infections this Saturday, 8,581 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

May 29: 1,062 cases

May 28: 901 cases

May 27: 1,299 cases

May 26: 1,299 cases

May 25: 1,004 cases

May 24: 1,417 cases

May 23: 1,599 cases

157 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
