Two more people have died from COVID-19 in the Maldives.
The deceased are an 80-year old local woman and a 58-year old local male admitted at the Hulhumale' Medical Facility.
This means that the total number of deaths in the Maldives has now reached 142. Since the individuals passed away before 00:00, May 25, they are included among the COVID-19 deaths reported yesterday. This means that a total of 13 deaths were confirmed on May 24, the highest number of deaths to be recorded in the Maldives in a single day.
The month of May has also marked the highest number of deaths related to the virus in the Maldives in a single month since the beginning of the pandemic, totaling 69 deaths.
There are more than 24,000 active cases of the virus in the Maldives right now, with total confirmed cases at 57,341.
