COVID-19: Seventh death recorded today

The Maldives has recorded its seventh death related to COVID-19 today, bringing the total number of deaths related to the virus to 112. 

Sources have stated that the deceased was a 62-year old woman taken to the IGMH Emergency Room in the afternoon. No further details are yet available. 

Three people died from the Hulhumale' COVID-19 Medical Facility earlier today while two hospitalized in the L. Atoll Facility also died today. Another individual taken to the IGMH Emergency Room also passed away today. 

With the latest death, the Maldives has recorded seven COVID-19 deaths just today alone. 

Positive cases in the country as well as deaths have skyrocketed as of recently. The nation is currently bearing the brunt of a fourth wave of the virus which experts describe as the worst to hit the nation.
