Brigadier General Mohamed Shareef has been appointed Commandant of Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) Fire and Rescue Service.
Shareef was presented with his letter of appointment by Chief of Defense Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal in a ceremony at MNDF headquarters Bandaara Koshi on Tuesday morning.
The ceremony was also attended by Vice Chief of Defense Force Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef.

Shareef replaces former Commandant of Fire and Rescue Service Mohamed Mukhthar – who has been deployed to Saudi Arabia to work at the Counter-Terrorism Center of Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition.
