Maldives confirms 50th death related to COVID-19

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has just announced the death of an individual infected with COVID-19 in the Maldives. 

This is the 50th death related to the virus in the Maldives. HPA stated that the individual was taken to the Emergency Room of IGMH in an "unresponsive state" around 9:50.

According to the HPA, the deceased is a 77-year old local male. 

The time of death was confirmed as 10:14.


Maldives confirmed 79 cases of COVID-19 last night, bringing the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives to 14,712. The Maldives currently has 1,017 active cases.

The number of total recoveries from the virus in the Maldives is 13,639 while there are 79 patients in hospitals receiving treatment for the virus.
