COVID-19: With 23 new cases, active cases fall to 509

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 23 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 13,524. With the new cases, Maldives has a total of 509 active cases.

14 of the new cases were identified from the Greater Male' Area while two were confirmed from other inhabited islands. Seven cases were also confirmed from resorts.  

Meanwhile, 31 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 12,960. There are a total of 41 patients in the hospital.

HPA specified that 2,404 samples were collected for the virus in the last 24 hours. Health officials have so far collected 294,401  samples for the virus.

48 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
