COVID-19: Maldives confirms 30 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 30 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 13,474.

With the new cases, Maldives has a total of 541 active cases.

10 of the new cases were identified from the Greater Male' Area while six were confirmed from other inhabited islands. Five were confirmed from operational resorts while one case was also confirmed from liveaboards. Seven cases were also confirmed from islands under development while a single case was confirmed from an industrial island.  

Meanwhile, 42 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 12,878.

There are a total of 47 patients in the hospital.

HPA specified that 3,768 samples were collected for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Health officials have so far collected 286,354 samples for the virus.

48 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
