COVID-19: Maldives confirms 48th virus related death

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has just announced the death of an individual infected with COVID-19 in the Maldives. 

This is the 48th death related to the virus in the Maldives. 

According to the HPA, the deceased was a 69-year old local male. He was receiving treatment at the Dharumavantha Hospital's DH11 facility when he passed away. 

The time of death was confirmed as 9:34. 

The Maldives recorded an additional 34 cases of COVID-19 last night, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 13,308.

With the new cases, Maldives currently has a total of 633 active cases. The total number of recoveries in the country now stands at 12,621.
