Autopsy: Sidhurathullah's death was due to drowning

An autopsy examination of Sidhurathullah Ahmed's body has shown that he died due to drowning. 

Sidhurathullah's body was discovered at sea near Male' City on October 23, 2020. He was last seen alive on the day before. His body had suffered serious wounds when he was found. Police had stated that due to the undetermined cause of death, an autopsy on the body would be conducted. 

The preliminary report of the autopsy has shown that Sidhurathullah died due to drowning, according to Police. The wounds on his body were "due to his body being fed on by something" while he was at sea, according to Police who added that tests conducted had also shown that Sidhurathulah was positive for drugs. 

Further tests are being conducted abroad, according to the police who stated that the case was being looked into by police. Sidhurathullah's body was sent to the Medical College in Trivandrum, India on November 2 for the autopsy.
