A total of 7,884 Bangladeshi nationals have been repatriated from the Maldives for various reasons.
A flight carrying 152 Bangladeshi nationals departed to Dhaka, Bangladesh today as part of the repatriation program conducted by the Maldivian government in collaboration with Bangladeshi authorities. This is the 41st such flight by the national carrier.

Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail has previously said that the Maldives would not forcibly repatriate anyone. Those being repatriated include individuals without proper documentation and those who wish to return for other reasons.
The Maldivian government has previously set a target to repatriate 20,000 migrants by the end of 2020.
