COVID-19: Maldives records 44 positive cases from 1,519 samples

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Friday, announced 44 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 10,398.

According to HPA, the 44 new cases include 39 locals and 6 foreigners.

40 of the cases were identified from the greater Male’ region, while the remaining four were identified from the atolls.

Meanwhile, 26 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 9,213.

The new developments mean the Maldives now has 1,144 active cases.

There are 516 patients in isolation facilities and 79 in hospitals.

1,519 samples have been tested for the new COVID-19 over the last 24 hours.
