HPA has amended guidelines for quarantined or isolated individuals due to COVID-19 so that positive individuals will not have to quarantine if they travel to another island after recovering from the virus.

HPA stated that scientific findings have not shown any conclusive evidence that those who recover from the virus could spread the virus. So. Recovered individuals are exempted from the mandatory quarantine rules for travelers in the Maldives.

They will also be exempted from contact tracing testing or testing for COVID-19 for work purposes as well as surveillance tests, said HPA.

HPA said that new amendments are subject to change based on scientific findings.
