HEOC: 348 coronavirus patients yet to be moved to isolation facilities

Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) has announced that 348 coronavirus patients have yet to be moved to isolation facilities.

The delay in moving patients to isolation facilities has sparked concerns regarding the potential for the spread of infections within households.

Responding to questions from the press regarding patients awaiting transport to isolation facilities, HEOC announced on Saturday that 348 patients were yet to be moved to isolation facilities as of 06:00 pm on Friday.

Of the 348 patients, 194 were awaiting transport arrangements by the authorities, while 18 were awaiting test results of family members.

Meanwhile 89 patients were refusing to be moved to isolation facilities, and 33 were unresponsive.

There were also 14 more patients who were yet to be moved to isolation facilities for other reasons, which were not specified.

Maldives has 6,564 confirmed coronavirus cases, including 194 new cases on Friday. 4,012 patients have since recovered, while 26 have died from complications.

The country currently has 2,527 active cases. 166 coronavirus patients are hospitalized.
