Maldives records 23rd COVID-19 death

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Monday that a coronavirus patient hospitalized at the Hulhumale’ medical facility has passed away.

The deceased patient was identified by HPA as a 64-year-old Maldivian woman.

She was being treated at the intensive care unit of Hulhumale’ medical facility, and passed away at 05:36 pm on Monday.

It marks the 23rd COVID-19 death in Maldives.

Maldives has 5,785 confirmed coronavirus cases, including 106 new cases recorded on Sunday. 3,349 patients have since recovered.

The country currently has 2,414 active cases. 146 of the patients are hospitalized.
