Health Emergency Operations center (HEOC) spokesperson Dr. Nazla Rafeeq has placed herself in quarantine after a family member tested positive for COVID-19.
Dr. Nazla tweeted that she was in self-quarantine after a family member tested positive for the virus. She added that she was well and was following the guidelines of the HPA.
Dr. Nazla said that she would still take part in press conferences while in quarantine.
HEOC holds regular press conferences online except Friday. The next press conference of the HEOC is scheduled for tomorrow night.
The Maldives has confirmed more than 5,400 cases of the virus. 22 individuals have passed away due to the virus and the current number of active cases stand at 2,553.
