COVID-19: 10 new cases along with 7 recoveries

Health Protection Agency (HPA), has announced 10 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 2,410.

According to HPA, the new cases are;

  • 04 locals
  • 02 Bangladeshi nationals
  • 03 Indian nationals
  • 01 Indonesian national

The confirmed cases were identified from 18:00 yesterday to 18:00 today.

Meanwhile, seven more COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24-hours, increasing total recoveries to 1,976 people.

The new developments mean that the Maldives now has 419 active cases.

There are 259 people in isolation facilities, and 115 people in quarantine facilities.

53,867 samples, including repeated samples, have been taken by health authorities to conduct COVID-19 testing.

Confirmed cases over the last week:

  • June 27, 2020: 22 positive cases
  • June 28, 2020: 19 positive cases
  • June 29, 2020: 13 positive cases
  • June 30, 2020: 24 positive cases
  • July 01, 2020: 21 positive cases
  • July 02, 2020: 18 positive cases
  • July 03, 2020: 10 positive cases

Capital Male' City saw the introduction of massive easements to the lockdown order since July 1. They include the reopening of schools, businesses, cafes, and hotels. Civilians are also allowed outdoors from 5:00 to 23:00.
