22 undocumented migrants found from three islands

Authorities have found 22 undocumented migrants living in three islands of the Maldives. 

Maldives Immigration said that a program was commenced to find undocumented migrant workers living in the country and reduce the number of undocumented migrants in collaboration with police and councils. 

Under the program, undocumented migrants were found from the islands of A. Dh. Dhangethi, A. Dh. Maamigili, and K. Himmafushi. 22 individuals were taken into custody. 

The government is carrying out a program to reduce the number of undocumented migrants in the nation.  

Councils are requesting migrants living in the islands to register at the council.
