Defense Minister: Pledge to regain public faith in MNDF fulfilled

Minister for Defense Mariya Ahmed Didi has said that the pledge by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to regain the public faith and respect in the army has been fulfilled.

A tweet by the Minister today regarding the important operations of the MNDF against COVID-19 recalled that the President had pledged to regain public trust for the army when he was sworn in.

The Minister’s tweet read that she believed the pledge had been fulfilled, from the feelings expressed by the public regarding the MNDF today.

MNDF are mainly involved in the logistics of the operations but are also involved in almost every other aspect of the operations as well.

MNDF are also involved in quarantine and isolation facilities across the country in works such as managing the facilities to cooking. MNDF are in charge of the facilities.

They are also involved in the delivery work of essential supplies to households of the capital which is under lockdown. Other than the COVID-19 village cases, MNDF officers have tested positive for the virus while involved in other frontline operations.
